Architectural ChangesWhat are Architectural Changes and why do we need approval to make them? The purpose of requiring review of proposed changes is to ensure that changes made to a homeowner’s property preserve or enhance our property values as a whole and to uphold restrictions found in our governing documents and ARC Rules and Regulations. Typically, the Architectural Review Committee reviews proposed changes on the following criteria: Does it:
Detract from the community? Change the harmony of surrounding structures? Reduce the enjoyment of other owners? Comply with association architectural standards and guidelines?
Architectural changes are changes made to the exterior of your home that need approval of the Board. Examples (this is not a complete list): Adding sidewalks or widening driveways Fencing changes/additions Deck/patio changes/additions Satellite dishes Storage sheds Changing color of mailboxes, shutters, front doors, garage doors, etc.
Basic rule: if in doubt‑‑go ahead and get approval‑‑it can't hurt. An Architectural Improvement Application is available online for your convenience. If you are planning a change such as installing a fence or enlarging your deck, please consult with our property manager, Ralph Jones (615-822-3509) for assistance in filing your request.
